Summer Basics:

Packing for a summer vacation means preparing for the summer heat. Reef-safe sunblock with an SPF factor of 50 (or above) is the best protection you’ll have against the sun. A pair of UV-blocking sunglasses will shield your eyes from the harsh light. You can also find UV-blocking chapstick to prevent dry and cracked lips at most pharmacies.
Drink as much water as you can each day. In extreme heat, this could be as much as 1 liter (33.8 fl oz) every couple of hours. Try to use a refillable water bottle to avoid wasting too much plastic. You may be able to refill the bottle for free at some beaches.
If the sun reaches unbearable temperatures, you may want to invest in a delicate sun umbrella. Made of light-colored, breathable material, a sun umbrella shades you from the sun, much like a regular umbrella keeps the rain off of your head. A hand-held fan will help you stay cool during the hottest times of the day. You can either buy a battery- or USB-powered mini fan or use a traditional, foldable fan.
Before heading out, bring some home comforts into your campervan to ensure you get a good night’s sleep every night on your vacation. You’ll also need to ensure you keep your campervan cool in the summer heat. And don’t forget the food you will need to prepare delicious summer recipes.
Hot Weather Outfits!

You’re heading out into the heat, so you’ll need to pack appropriate clothes. Light t-shirts and shorts will be essential on hot days. The best materials to wear in the summer are cotton and linen. If you will be hiking on your vacation, then a synthetic moisture-wicking material such as polyester will be your friend. Spending hours under the sun can be harmful for your arms and shoulders. A thin long-sleeved shirt over your outfit can spice up your look and protect you from UV rays.
Summer dresses pair excellently with a protective sun hat. Don’t forget your sandals to finish off the look. Sturdy boots are recommended for actual hikes, but you’ll want something light to wear when you go sightseeing. Bring plenty of socks and underwear to last your trip. For cooler evenings, you will want a summer jacket. A waterproof coat is always a good idea as you never know when the weather may turn.
Aside from clothes, you must remember to pack all your electronics and chargers and any medication you may be taking. Prepare a separate bag for your toiletries and beauty products. And pack your jewelry and accessories to make your outfit your own!
Essential Beach Vacation Gear:

The rush of the waves, the smell of salt in the air, the hot sand waiting to dry you off. There’s nothing better than a beach trip in summer. Unless you get there and you find out you’ve left most of the essentials at home. You don’t have to worry about that this year, though, as we’ve got you covered on everything you need to pack to make the most out of your beach vacation.
The advantage of traveling in a campervan is that you’ll have space for beach gear that you couldn’t fit in a regular car. This means you can bring a parasol (or beach umbrella) and your surfboard, bodyboard, or longboard. Foldable deckchairs are also nice to have on the waterfront and can be tucked inside your camper. You can also fit plenty of inflatables, like lilos and beachballs.
If you don’t want deckchairs, then bring a large blanket for everyone to use, or a sizeable towel each. When you’re not splashing in the surf or sunbathing on the sand, a good book will keep your company on your blanket. Going somewhere with fish and reefs? Then bring a well-fitting snorkeling mask and your water shoes. And finally, don’t forget to pack your swimwear. Bring multiple swimsuits, trunks, or bikinis, if you will be on the beach for more than one day.
